Below I will show you a five step program that will help you achieve your goal of becoming a computer programmer.  If you choose to follow and acquire a degree in computer programming, there are certain steps you must follow.  First you must make a long term list of goals that will get you to the point of acquiring your degree in computer programming.  Remind and motivate yourself how much you want to acquire this degree.  Work, study hard and remember all the great rewards and benefits that you will receive after graduating.

Second you must choose a language you want to learn.  There are many out there and it may be hard to choose.  Make sure you look into each one and make a decision based on your preference.  Some basic programming languages are Visual basics, C and FORTRAN.  Some advanced computer languages are C++ and Java.

Third, you should read a lot of materials related to computer programming.  Start to read books, article, websites, and anything that can help you develop knowledge towards your degree.  The more knowledge you have, the better pay, and rewards will you receive.  Computer programmer should constantly be learning new things to better themselves in their career.

Fourth you must acquire a computer science degree that will serve as a door opener for your first job.  With the economy the way it is, having a degree is very important.  In order to start looking for your job, you must have an associates, bachelors or masters degree in some sort of computer programming.  Education is very important and needs to be taken very seriously.  Last but not least, you need to start talking to other computer programmers and learn from them.  Find someone who has a great amount of knowledge in the same career field as you.  They can help you and provide you with great amount of information that will help you to develop and become more knowledgeable in your career field.
