The Advantages of Using ISDN

ISDN is able to provide voice and data communication while using the same line that you have in your home or business. ISDN is a lot faster than regular DSL service. This type of service is more reliable, dependable, and faster which makes the customer more satisfied with their connection. The ISDN has no line noise, as does the regular DSL, this makes the ISDN more cost effective too. ISDN mainly cost less to operated and keep running that would a regular DSL connection because with DSL you would have to replace line filters if they went out or it would mess up the connection.

A benefit to using ISDN over a regular dial-up modem is that ISDN can also act as a digital PBX system. Since, ISDN is not analog it can handle a broader range of data transmissions than can using a standard phone line. All basic dial-up phone lines are analog. There is a greater amount of “noise” that disrupts data transmission and bandwidth allowed is generally 56k. Also, instead of facing possible phone line charges and other miscellaneous fees, you are generally charged a flat rate by the carrier of ISDN. Since ISDN is digital, you can also set it up for VoIP, and many other uses.

Just like dial-up connections, ISDN uses a telephone system network. One of the primary advantages of using ISDN over regular dial-up is that it integrates speech and data across the same line. ISDN can access packet-switched networks allowing for the digital transmissions. Another advantage that ISDN offers is the 64k increment speeds for sending voice and data. For Internet access, ISDN is able to provide 128kb versus the dreadful 56kb analog.

There is no fear of being victimized by someone picking up a phone. There are multiple benefits to be considered that can save time, money, and stress levels, to any business or homeowner instead of using a basic dial-up modem.
